🎉 Project Complete 🎉

Bluecoat Trent Academy in Nottingham has opened its doors 🎉 A once disused site has been transformed into a fantastic new facility for 1,200 students, which will also serve as a vibrant hub for the local community.

We’ve loved working on this project and the extensive value-add activities we’ve collaborated on with Bowmer + Kirkland, including:-

⭐ 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬: Hosting a group of 20 year 10 students from a local school, we introduced them to engineering careers, apprenticeship paths, and engaging engineering challenges. We showcased the Bluecoat Trent Academy project and took them on-site to witness construction progress.

⭐ 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭: B+K forged connections between their supply chain and BCT, supporting a fundraising drive for equipment, enabling a world cup tournament for children in the local area.

⭐ 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: We teamed up with engineering faculty academics at Loughborough University to create the MEng Civil Engineering final year design challenge, based on Bluecoat Trent Academy. We briefed the students in October 2023; revisited to hold mock client interviews; attended a design options poster exhibition; took the students to site to enable them to compare their designs to what was being built; and returned in the summer for final technical design presentations.
