Dave is a Founder and Director at Hexa. He has worked as a civil/structural engineer/consultant for over 25 years and feels truly lucky to have found a career and an industry that is fulfilling, challenging and can have such a positive impact. Dave is incredibly personable, cultivates brilliant working relationships and approaches every project with a pragmatism to balance client aspirations, budget and sustainable design.

Mark is a Founder and Director with over 35 years of experience. He started out as an apprentice on the drawing boards upon leaving school. Undertaking hours of dedicated printing practice, Mark remains convinced that his hair loss was as a result of the effects of ammonia printers and spray mount glue! Mark prides himself on his ability to simplify complex engineering challenges, whilst remaining honest, pragmatic and approachable. He has a wealth of experience across many sectors within the industry having delivered some of the regions’ most significant engineering projects.

James is a Founder and Director with over 20 years of extensive experience across all sectors of the construction industry. James’ personable, simple and no-nonsense approach has always been a key factor in maximising the wider Hexa team’s performance and consequently in keeping our clients happy. While James loves an engineering challenge, he also believes that as people are central to every decision, you must invest in them; learning to listen is the best way to ensure everyone’s needs are not only met but hopefully exceeded.

Matt heads up Hexa Land, the geo-environmental arm of our business. With masses of experience spanning both public and private sectors, Matt specialises in crafting sustainable geo-environmental designs tailored to each project’s unique needs, cutting through complexity to unlock brownfield sites. He is passionate about collaborating with other engineering disciplines, ensuring that solutions are precisely tailored to maximise development potential while championing environmental integrity.

Elaine is our Group Business Manager, with a diverse role that encompasses various key areas. These include supporting the Directors in managing the business finance to drive Hexa’s growth, fostering and advocating for our people-first culture to ensure a positive work environment, as well as handling client and supplier relationships. Elaine is the glue that holds Hexa together! She loves countryside walks, gardening and her greatest joy is spending time with her grandchildren.

Claire is an Associate at Hexa within our Operations Team.  She’s had a varied background (it’s been a fun ride!); working as a criminal defence solicitor, a GM for a group of independent pubs/restaurants, lots of travelling and in recent years a variety of people-focused business management roles. She’s driven by creating progressive workplace cultures, having a positive impact on people and making life count!

Richard set up our Leeds office and leads the team and growth in the North. He’s focused on delivering director-led senior experience to our clients and projects. With over 20 years of experience, Richard is known for his people-focused leadership, quality engineering, high performing design teams and working with education providers to promote careers in the profession. Outside of work you’ll find him out in the Yorkshire hills on his bike!
